Ground View 4. In Pursuit of Civil Rights: Freedom Riders
The Epoch Times presents the next in the series of Ground View events: Featuring world-class photojournalists and filmmakers who have reported on and/or witnessed some of the world's most important news firsthand.

"Freedom Riders" chronicles the experiences of an integrated group of courageous young college students who boarded a bus in 1961 headed for the Deep South in an effort to bring national attention to civil-rights issues like segregation.

Watch clips of this documentary and meet some of the original Freedom Riders. The panel discussion will be about the film as well as individual experiences of the "Ride."

Laurens Grant, the moderator, is a multi-Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and producer of "Freedom Riders."

Ms. Grant is currently directing a film about Jesse Owens and the 1938 Olympics for PBS' American Experience and Firelight Media.

Panelists, 1961 Freedom Riders: George Bundy-Smith, Esq., retired judge of the New York Court of Appeals and partner at Charbourne and Parke, LLC.; David J. Dennis, Sr., Esq., CEO David Dennis Connection and consultant for the Algebra Project-Southern Initiative; Lewis Zuchman, CEO of SCAN, Inc. and president and co-chairperson Human Service Consortium of East Harlem.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Firelight Media, which is a non-profit media organization, and Scholastic, Inc. for scholarships.
